Silver Award

Littletown Primary Academy is extremely proud to announce that we were recently awarded the grade of Silver: Rights Aware as part of the Rights Respecting Schools Award (RRSA) run by UNICEF UK. We are one of only 30 schools in the South West to achieve this award. We achieved Bronze: Rights Committed in the summer term of 2023 and to achieve Silver: Rights Aware, we were assessed by one of UNICEFs Professional Advisers who looked at the whole school’s rights respecting work. We have shown good progress towards embedding children’s rights in our school’s policy, practice and ethos, as outlined in the RRSA Strands and Outcomes. A number of staff and children spoke with the assessor and showed how well Rights are integrated into our school. She was very impressed with our child representatives (from years 2-6) and wants us to start raising awareness of Children’s Rights in the wider community - this will help us in our next challenge of working towards Gold: Rights Respecting. We have already started working towards this by choosing to raise awareness and funds for the Toilet Twinning charity.
