We are lucky at Littletown to have a strong and enthusiastic PTFA (parents, teachers and friends association).  Our main aim is to work together as a school community to raise money which is used to enhance the education and school experience of all the pupils in the school.  Each year we raise thousands of pounds towards equipment, visits and workshops that would not have been covered by the school budget.  Our main fundraising events are our Christmas Fayre, discos and Summer Fete and we also run other events and activities throughout the year.  These are all run voluntarily and wouldn’t happen without the generosity of all our helpers.  We are a friendly group and it is a great way to become more involved in your child’s school and work together for the benefit of the children.

Getting Involved
All members of the school community are members of the PTFA and are welcome to become involved in what we do.  We greatly value any donation of time, money, items to sell, skills or ideas, however big or small. If you are interested in finding out more about the PTFA or you would like to be involved then please contact us ptfa@littletownacademy.org or come to one of our meetings (advertised on the notice board at the front of school).

We have a mailing list.  If you would like to be included in our mailing list or if you may be able to help with forthcoming events please email ptfa@littletownacademt.org  and we will add you to our contacts.

What the PTFA has provided:
Each year the PTFA has a main focus for our fundraising.  This year we have given each year group funding to help deliver the new Cornerstones Curriculum topics. The children have enjoyed these topics and gained a lot from the activities and resources.  In previous years we have paid for new playground markings, provided new toys and equipment for the refurbished nursery and helped to update the school library with new books.

We also pay for one trip or day event for each year group during the year, such as animal encounters, dance workshops, etc..  We have provided a picnic bench for reception, Reading Aloud books, role play and construction toys for year 1 and a pantomime for the whole school.  We give each of the year 6 children leavers’ books and provide food for their end of year barbeque.

So far this year we have spent £5467 to enhance the children’s time at Littletown.
